FIBO 2009 – The Leading International Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness & Health

•    Still growing: for the first time FIBO is expecting up 500 exhibitors from 40 countries
•    Fitness industry and medical profession: FIBO shows possibilities of cooperation

Düsseldorf/Essen. FIBO-Organizer Reed Exhibitions Germany is expecting up to 500 exhibitors from 40 countries and 50.000 visitors from 23rd till 26th April in Essen. The Leading International Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health will present an even greater variety of products and services this year. In addition to Fitness, Wellness and Power Sport it will also focus on Health issues. Health consciousness among Germans is on the rise, the fitness studios are preparing for this trend. So does FIBO: as early as 2007 the Health Pavilion in Hall 4 was very successfully established. In 2009 exhibitors will present everything to do with health: from diagnostic equipment and functional therapy methods right through to professional health consulting. FIBO’s commitment in this field will be extended in 2009 with an additional special area. In Hall 7 the joint FIBOmed stand will be devoted to the communication between studio operators and the medical profession. Among those represented are e.g. health insurance providers with special concepts for linking up doctors and fitness studios and software providers creating synergies between doctors and studios. Furthermore, information is available from eugn GmbH & Co. KG, the European health network organising an inspired type of cooperation between patients, doctors and establishments for prevention. Manufacturers of training equipment with a special health orientation will also be represented.

Wellness with new features
New at this year’s FIBO will be the cooperation between ISWA (International Spa and Wellness Association) and Klafs in Hall 2. ISWA will provide information on developments and trends in the industry its information terminal. Klafs will even present itself with several product innovations. The Spa and Wellness Expert Days from 23 to 24 April will also deal with the topic of industry trends. More information at www.fibo.de.

Conventions and competitions
FIBOactive will once more offer everything from the fields of “Fashion, Music, Fun & Action“. New and established large exhibitors present a comprehensive range of products supplemented by a large number of action programmes and stage shows to the visitors.
FIBOevent will again offer a multitude of join-in and stage programmes in 2009. In Hall 5 the emphasis will be on the DFAV Convention. In addition to the Cycling Festival, the LES MILLS Convention invites participation with the slogan “Become a Hero“. As spectators, on the other hand, visitors can enjoy swinging shows. Zumba, a fitness trend from the USA which found enthusiastic followers in 2008, will be back this year. www.fibo-event.de
FIBO POWER: is the meeting place for the bodybuilding and weight training community in Europe. It includes the FIBO Strongman Classics and the FIBO Powerlifting Challenge.
FIBO POWER Masters Fight Night: On the night of Saturday, 25 April, a premiere full of action will be staged in Hall 12: for the first time the “FIBO POWER Masters Fight Night“ will take place here. In order to make this spectacle happen, FIBO POWER, Masters Gym Duisburg and I.K.B.O., the International Kick Boxing Organisation, are working hand in hand. The centre of attention will be the heavy-weight K-1 Rules 8 man tournament. Fans of the martial arts can already look forward to the Masters Fight Night highlights: Alex Vogel and Marc Vogel can be seen in I.K.B.O. World Championship fights! Ten years of “Innovation Award”
FIBO offers the largest display of training equipment worldwide. This year, the INNOVATION AWARD will be ten years old! Anybody interested in the latest, high-quality training equipment should look for the Award seal. Stars were born here, novelties and premieres celebrated: products like “Power Plate“ (2002), “TreadClimber“ (2006) and “Cardio Wave“ (2007) started their triumphal course through fitness studios around the world with this prize. The prize is awarded annually by FIBO, TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH and the magazine “Fit FOR FUN”. Exhibitors can still apply until February 20th.
